Guitarthur

The Alter Ego

I studied the Stand Up Comedy module whilst at Salford University, following in the footsteps of many greats including Peter Kay & Jason Manford performing on the North West comedy circuit with my musical act.

After a good friend from Uni who was on the Galaxy breakfast radio show in Manchester allowed me to come and help out, I got the opportunity to perform live with my guitar writing and performing a topical round up of the week.. From that day I was branded the name 'Guitarthur' (Guitar - Thur) with the help of the listeners of the Rob Ellis show.

I went on to perform as Guitarthur live on air every Friday for 2 years writing and performing my own comedy songs and sketches about whatever was topical in Manchester that week.

Writing and performing on air with Peter Kay, Alesha Dixon, featuring on celebrity Big Brother and accompanying many guests and performing comedy ditties.

Moving from one Manchester radio station to the other Guitarthur guest star on the Tim Cocker XFM Manchester breakfast show where he would write and perform in an end of the week feature called 'Round Our Way. Focusing on one Greater Manchester town with the listeners help Guitarthur would compose and perform an original comedy song live on a air. The feature was a big success and went on to be nominated for a Sony Radio academy award.

Guitarthur would then go on to guest feature on the City Square stage at his beloved Manchester City's Etihad stadium where he continues to perform as the Paul Hand Band singing the official Blue Moon anthem as well as having sang on the pitch, trophy parade celebrations and City parties and events.

Have a listen to some of Guitarthur's 'Round Our Way' songs below and get in touch if you would like a personal song writing for that special occasion.
